Sculptra

What is SCULPTRA?

Introducing the first FDA and Health Canada approved non-surgical butt injection known as Sculptra. We are proud to bring our clients a long lasting substance that is injected into the buttocks that gently adds volume with minimal to zero downtime.

Sculptra is a safe, recognized and a legal injection that lasts up to 2 years with no anesthesia required. This treatment can be performed in under 30 minutes. Sculptra is a substance known as Poly – L – Lactic Acid, which stimulates your body to grow collagen to add volume, shape, and roundness to the buttocks area. Sculptra provides up to 80 percent improvement in the treated areas.

The Details

Our bodies naturally produce a substance called Poly-L-lactic acid, especially within our muscles during exercise. Sculptra mimics this substance as it is a synthetic Poly-L-lactic acid agent that helps increase the thickness in our skin. This provides more volume and fullness to the treated area. This agent is commonly used in dissolvable stitches and soft tissue implants. Hence, it is very safe and biocompatible meaning it can be dissolved over time by the body.

The Sculptra Procedure

The Sculptra procedure is performed by our nurse practitioner, typically for patients aged 30 to 60. It is most often performed with the use of a topical numbing cream and possibly a local anesthetic, if pain tolerance is low. Patients may experience minimal discomfort from the needle injection, not the product itself. The procedure can take approximately 15 to 30 minutes. Patients have very minimal downtime and may return home within minutes after the procedure.

Step One: Various injection points will be determined for each area to be treated.
Step Two:The correct amount of Sculptra will be determined for the procedure.
Step Three: The Sculptra filler is injected beneath the skin, under the dermis and subcutis layers.
Step Four: You will be advised to apply an ice pack to the treated areas to reduce swelling. You will also be instructed to massage the treated area to promote even distribution.

Results gradually become more evident over the course of a few weeks. Hence, you will see results improving over time. Since Sculptra’s results are temporary (up to two years), treatments will have to be repeated in future to maintain the benefit.

After Procedure

You may resume normal activities immediately after the procedure. However, we do advise to stay out of the sun for a minimum 5-7 days post procedure.Touchup treatments may be required up to six times every six weeks to achieve an optimal result. If you experience unmanageable pain or symptoms that are progressive or abnormal, report it to the practitioner immediately.

Risks and complications of Sculptra

The most common side effects of Sculptra include tenderness, redness, and discomfort at the injection points, which can last up to two weeks.

Alternative and Additional Treatments

Our practitioners may recommend additional treatments in conjunction with Sculptra, such as chemical peels, laser skin resurfacing or microdermabrasion.
